  1. Discuss: Key turning points and the aftermath of the war  (Wartime propaganda and challenges, the role of Walt Disney and the Good Neighbor Policy, Key battles in the Pacific, D-Day,  V-E Day, the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb, Japan surrenders, etc.)
  2. Go over point point The Final Stages of WWII and its aftermath 
  3. Take notes with note-taking guide
  4. On your own, download and watch the following short video clips: The Bataan Death March, Kamikaze Pilots, Walt Disney's Donald Duck Der Fuehrer's Face, Disney helps with Good Neighbor Policy: Donal goes to Brazil, makes a new friend, falls in love, and dances the Samba

  1. Go over homework 
  2. Discuss the roots of anti-semitism in Christian Europe and in the Roman Empire (the Jewish Revolt, the Medieval blood libel, Pope Innoent III, King Luther's antisemitism, etc.)
  3. Go over the Holocaust power point (The Final Solution) - take notes of what stood out and write down any questions you have
  4. Understanding the Nazi Party Platform (True/False worksheet) 
  5. Primary Source packet - answer questions and then fill in a time line with events from an "event bank"
  6. Watch short documentary on the Holocaust (The Path to Nazi Genocide) from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and write a brief summary, highlighting what stood out to you (S.I.T.) 




HW:  Finish the "Primary Source Packet" activities, Watch the Documentary (The Path to Nazi Genocide) and watch Schindler's List or one of the movies I recommended for the Holocaust
