10/11 Friday The Enlightenment



SWBAT: create a an Enlightenment cartoon using the information and notes they have to represent the ideas of one of the major Enlightenment philosophes, in particular the theory of the state of nature and the social contract


  1. Go over homework
  2. Turned in Guided Reading Workbook graphic organizers on pages 54 and 57
  3. DBI Workbook pages 20-23 (work with a partner but complete your own) 
  4. Handed back Guided Reading workbook pages to students
  5.  Discussed effective answers to short answer questions, essays, etc.:  Always include details that mention "what, when, who, where" and support it with sentences that say "Such as" and "for example..." and end it with "it is relevant/important/significant/etc. because....."
  6. Go over the Hobbes, Locke and Rousseau homework questions 
  7. Immanuel Kant Document and Questions 
  8. Watch Voltaire documentary and add notes to your graphic organizer
  9. Start homework 

HW: Module 4 Lesson 4 section of the study guide and "Locke" reading with questions
