SWBAT write a thesis and support it with relevant information in a history essay analyzing the causes of WWII

  1. Go over writing a complex thesis and an introductory paragraph 
  2. Power Point on writing an essay in history class 
  3. Context, complex thesis (start it with an "although" statement and then provide three  supportive points or subtopics you'll be covering in your essay - not a simple "laudry list." make sure you add a "because/which/such as" statement for each of your subtopics), supportive paragraphs (Topic Sentence - one of your subpoints from your thesis -  followed by one or more items of evidence, and then analysis)


HW:
Work on your introduction paragraph and email to me
Read Module 14 Lesson 3 (The Holocaust) and define key terms and people, do reading checks on pages 536 and 541, "Critical Thinking" questions on page 539, map question on page 538, and "Assessment" questions on page 541

Begin watching a film or documentary on the Holocaust. Recommendations (be sure to ask parent's for permission for rated R films):
