SWBAT state similarities between different monotheistic religions, their roots in the middle east, and their contributions to modern culture and politics.
- Collect HW (Judaism and the Modern World)
- Quiz (Open "book" - students may use their study guide for these "Pop" quizzes based on previous night's homework)
- Power Point Presentation - the history of monotheism and its contribution to modern egalitarianism and democratic thought
- work in groups on your Shipwreck island activity
HW:
1) World Religions Comparison/information chart (internet research on Infoplease)
2) Go through slides 7-15 and summarize each into your class notes/study guide ( Module 1 Lesson 2) - if you were absent go through slides 1-7 to answer study guide questions/identification items that weren't covered in the book.
You will present your island project to the class on Wednesday of this week.
The test on this section (Module 1 lesson 2) will be on Wednesday of next week. It will cover the forms of government notes (Power point available here as well as in the class website).
